GeoMetrix Introduces Training Partner 2005

Victoria, BC, May 31, 2005: GeoMetrix Data Systems Inc. announces the release of a new version of its Training Partner learning management system.

With the 2005 release of Training Partner, GeoMetrix is helping shape the future of learning management. This latest version builds on twelve years of continuous development and puts the focus on managed learning with revolutionary learning groups and a new skills and competency engine. Training Partner 2005 also offers interactive real-time links with external systems, revised learner licensing, an updated interface and more.

At the forefront of industry innovation, Training Partner provides a simple yet comprehensive method of managing the learning accessible to or required by individuals. "Training Partner's new Learning Groups let administrators dynamically combine learning that fits specific job classifications, compliance regulations, geographic regions or other criteria," says Justin Hearn, President of GeoMetrix. "Organizations can easily assemble learning into groups, and assign learners to one or more of these clusters," continues Hearn. "An individual belonging to multiple learning groups can follow a single learning path to meet the requirements of each group membership. By grouping learning access and supporting 'membership' within multiple groups, an organization can now manage compliance training and access to classified learning content far more easily."

In a response to the real-world needs of learning organizations, GeoMetrix supports three ways to manage skills within Training Partner. Training Partner 2005 offers learner self-assessment, tracking of task-based on-the-job training and Web-based assessments. "New rating scales and competencies let organizations create user-defined measurements for individual skills," says Hearn. "This lets organizations specify proficiency in skills using a non-numeric rating, and a totally new panel defines competencies by required skill."

In response to customer demand, GeoMetrix has added the option of having online access for learners expire after a pre-determined period of time. Organizations who train learners for a limited period of time can now free-up online licensing for re-use. "With this new feature, GeoMetrix makes it even easier for organizations to save money by buying a license for only the number of learners who need current access, rather than all learners in the database," says Hearn.

Training Partner 2005 enhances support for interoperability between different applications. In addition to client and server support for COM and DCOM, Training Partner now offers Web Service support to provide interactive real-time links to or from external systems. Training Partner provides a robust scalable interface whether integrating with ERP, financial, CRM or other enterprise applications.
