Victoria, BC, Canada; June 12, 2009: GeoMetrix Data Systems Inc. is proud to announce the addition of talent management specialist Colin Houghton to its TrainingPartner team.Houghton has more than 20 years experience in the talent management field and began working with GeoMetrix as a consultant on the redevelopment of the performance management/360 features in TrainingPartner.
"This collaboration was so successful that we decided to bring Colin on board full time," noted Justin Hearn, president of GeoMetrix. "Colin has joined the company as a Senior Product Architect, and his role will be to help TrainingPartner move forward in our industry. I am confident that his contributions will be immensely valuable to the company as a whole."
Colin Houghton has been developing and consulting in the implementation of talent management processes and systems since 1987, when he pioneered (at IBM) many of what are now commonly accepted approaches to this business concept. Between 1995 and 2001, as President and CEO of SkillScape Inc., Houghton implemented competency assessment systems for dozens of Fortune 2000 customers. As CIO of Chicago-based Exxceed, Houghton continued his work in combining competency management processes with talent management processes and designed Exxceed’s suite of talent management systems. More recently Colin Houghton was a Director of Development at Workstream Inc.
“After seeing the strength and breadth of the current TrainingPartner LMS," stated Houghton, "I recognized the value that an integrated talent management solution would bring to GeoMetrix’s huge existing customer base. GeoMetrix will soon be helping large enterprises and medium-sized businesses in the development and management of their talent using the most flexible and cost-effective integrated system on the market.”
"We are very pleased to have Colin on board," said Brett Watters, Director of Research and Development for GeoMetrix. "Colin will be working with our development team to make our software as competitive as possible in the marketplace. I look forward to working with him in his new full-time role."
Houghton's contributions to the talent management functionality in TrainingPartner will be included in the 2009 version of TrainingPartner, due for release in the third quarter of this year.
